It would be fair to say that 2020 has been a bit of a weird one. I think we all have high hopes for 2021 and I am hoping that my moon diary will keep me on track as well as helping you to stay in tune with the changing seasons and the lunar cycles. Working on this diary has been a great focus for me and I have enjoyed thinking about the seasons, moons and astrological signs. I have always been interested in astrology but for me it was mainly about my sun sign and what that said about me. I had never really thought about how the astrological season might be of influence and how the moon moves in and out of the signs. I love the names of each month’s moon and I have chosen the ones that resonated with me the most or seemed the most accessible. Maybe in the future I will look at the other names and weave those into my pictures also, or maybe even come up with my own names for the moons. I don’t know - all of this is a learning process for me and I hope that you will join me in my exploration. I am by no means an expert - simply a curious illustrator with a love of nature and learning. Crows became quite a significant part of my year and I have been paying closer attention to the skies and the behaviour of birds. I love how intelligent crows are and how steeped in mythology they are. I couldn’t resist having them as the front cover of my moon diary and also using that image for the little extras to go with the preorders and for as long as stocks last. I would love to make friends with crows, but seagulls tend to dominate my yard! The above image shows an example of what is included each month - it shows you the moon’s name - the astrological season and also any Sabbat on the horizon. The space is there for you to write notes, ingredients for a ritual, or things that you are going to do in the garden. Basically anything that sets your intention for the month and helps you to get in alignment. Each month also has one of my illustrations. They are my interpretations of the moon and the zodiac sign that is prevalent at the time. The image above is for the harvest moon in Virgo season - it is my hope that you will you can leave this page face up when it’s not in use to act as a further reminder of energy of the month. I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to use the day to day part of the diary yet. At the moment I’m thinking of just writing the top three things that I want to achieve in that day..... You could write a quote or an affirmation in that space though.... I think it will work well as a broad planner though with the moon phases acting as markers for beginnings and endings of goals. I will have to see how it goes! I’d love to know how you plan to use yours. Let’s make 2021 magical. 💕😊✨ Available in my Etsy shop
