I found this recipe on a witchy Facebook group last year and used it all of last winter. It tastes amazing which is great and has many wonderful properties. You can make it more magical by preparing on a full moon (or whatever phase most suits your intentions) and by repeating a phrase whilst stirring. I used ‘health, wealth, happiness’ as I stirred clockwise, but use what makes sense for you. Simple is good though as you want to be able to recall your words every time you have some. 1 1/2 cup of purified water 1/2 cup dried elderberries 1tsp mullein 1 tsp yarrow 1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup lemon Add water and herbs to pot and simmer for 30 minutes - adding more water if necessary. Strain then stir into the lemon juice and honey. Put it into a nice clean jar and put in the fridge. Keeps for around 1 month. Have 1-2 teaspoons daily Elderberries - immune boosting, antioxidant, and vitamins for heart protection, stress reduction, clears sinuses. Good for colds and flu. Mullein - for coughs, colds, congestion’s, anti viral and anti inflammatory. Yarrow - loss of appetite, colds and fevers, GI tract discomfort, bloating and to induce sweating. Honey - antibacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant, digestion aid and soothes sore throat. Disclaimer - I am not a herbalist! This recipe works for me, but if you have any reaction then please be sensible and stop taking it.
I take this as a preventative against colds and for it’s immune boosting properties, but I do have breaks in between batches as I feel as though you shouldn’t take something all the time. That’s my intuition on the subject - please listen to yours!
